Scholarships
Each year, NAAEE offers a variety of scholarships to help educators and students attend our annual conference. We are committed to providing as much assistance as we can to keep registration fees from being a barrier to conference attendance.
The scholarship application deadline has passed and applications are closed.
William B. Stapp Student Scholarship
The William B. Stapp Scholarship Fund was established in 2001 to help students attend NAAEE's Annual Conference. The scholarship honors Dr. Bill Stapp (1930–2001), one of the founders of the field of environmental education. Bill was a leader and strong supporter of NAAEE and introduced many of his students to both the association and the annual conference. North American and international attendees are welcome to apply. (These scholarships do not cover travel or lodging.)
Young Professionals Scholarship
NAAEE and the U.S. Forest Service share a goal of increasing representation from new constituencies within the field of environmental education. With funding from the U.S. Forest Service, the Young Professionals Scholarship supports conference participation for ten early-career professionals seeking to launch their careers in the field of EE or to become more established educators and future leaders who are committed to advancing equity and inclusion in EE.
Rising Leader Scholarship
The Rising Leader Scholarship recognizes one or two environmental educators who are attending their second or third NAAEE conference. This scholarship was made possible by a very generous donation from a long-time NAAEE member and supporter who seeks to pass along the kind of early-career support and encouragement that has enabled many individuals to get involved at the national level.
Pennsylvania Academic Scholarship
Each year, NAAEE recognizes one or two students in our host state/territory/province who have demonstrated academic excellence and leadership potential in the field of environmental education.
Details and how to apply for financial aid is listed below.
Financial Aid Application
