NAAEE’s Research Symposium brings together researchers, students, policymakers, and practitioners at all stages of their careers to explore the current state and future directions of environmental education research and advance the use of practices proven to be effective.

Monday, October 5, 1:30–5:30 PM PDT
Take in the beautiful parks of Portland! Learn about educational programming at the Hoyt Arboretum, followed by a short hike through the Redwood trail. Those interested in a longer outing can continue on to the Portland Japanese Garden, a short 1-mile hike or a quick free shuttle ride from Hoyt Arboretum.
The group will travel together on public transportation; participants are responsible for their own fares (under $10). Admission to Hoyt Arboretum is free. Admission to the Japanese Garden (optional) is $20.25 per person.
Wednesday, October 7, 7:00–8:00 AM PDT
Graduate students and recent graduates who are registered for the Research Symposium can enjoy a light continental breakfast as they network with one another and seek advice from more seasoned EE research scholars. Space is limited.

Join other Research Symposium attendees for food, fun, and conversation at Kells Irish Restaurant & Pub. Co-chairs Bill Finnegan and Lauren Madden will be there to welcome everyone and conclude two days of learning, sharing, and community-building. Participants will order off the menu and pay individually. Vegan and vegetarian options are readily available. Group size is limited.
